Say, for example, we are looking at a plate of pasta, chicken, and salad. Ladies , if we were trying to lose weight we’ll see calories and fat. We would say yes to the salad or chicken but would pass on the pasta . Guys if you want to gain muscles , you would look at that same plate and see protein . You'll consider everything but the salad. Now a vegan would get turned off by that plate because there is an dead animal. Now why do we eat what we eat? We individuals see food that we believe that looks tasty. When you eventually taste these specific foods, you end up wanting more. Brian Wansink uncovers to us the reasons on why we eat what we eat and the amount of nourishment we really eat. The State has embraced standards for a solid life for getting nourishment for everybody especially school kids, by which we should know the human body and how it is affected by dietary patterns. Another educator, Dan Buettner uses what he calls “Blue Zones” to give us information how to expand life expectancy based on the healthy amounts of food these areas eat. Both Brian Wansink and Buettner work gives us the answers to our questions when it comes down to a healthy lifestyle.

Blue Zones is a concept used to identify a demographic and/or geographic area of the world where people live measurably longer lives. National Geographic Fellow and New York Times best selling without said, “ The calculus of aging offers us two options: We can live a shorter life with more years of disability, or we can live the longest possible life with the fewest bad years. As my centenarian friends showed me, the choice is largely up to us.” He also found the 5 places in the world where people live the longest and healthiest. Eating a lot of high cell reinforcement foods (vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds, beans , whole grains etc) like individuals do in blue zone areas. For example making them about a portion of your plate , contributes illness battling supplements and normally controls your body's yearning signals so you know when you're full. These sorts of nourishment lower aggravation , which is critical in light of the fact that we know irritation is at the base of general ailments. Meat is typically eaten only a few times a month in most of the blue zones, while sheep , eggs and fish are consumed more often, usually a couple times per week. When they do have animal control products , they obtain more nutrients since their food is always raised locally. Unlike the U.S with wild-caught and harmful substances used in our meat and diary supply, like antibiotics and growth hormones.

Brian Wansink book, Mindless Eating, is based on research on how us Americans eat and our unhealthy lifestyle. “Wansink’s research is told through a series of compelling stories, and the book is scattered with handy tips.” (Garvery) Wansink does give us insight on what he believes is handy tips. He tells us to keep it to three doable steps and don’t make eating complex. The First step is based on if you want to eat more slowly. He states for us
