There are many reasons why a soldier should follow all of the orders they are given because every one of them is important in any circumstance. An order is a task given to a soldier that has to be done in a certain period of time in an efficient manner. There are three main reasons of why it’s important for a soldier to follow the orders they are given: To be disciplined, an effective combat, and be a good soldier and love your job. When a soldier doesn’t follow the orders they were given it doesn’t only affect them it affects everyone in the team and the goals they have set for the mission. When soldiers don’t follow the orders, the objectives are hurt and the chances of winning the war. When you’re in the army you need to stop and think The key to a successful team work, followings and leading is learning how to follow instructions of those appointed over you. As a soldier we are used to being drilled almost every day listening to commanders, sergeants and everyone above our rank, in most cases it would be the people that have been in service more time than us. The meaning of discipline in the army is thought from day one in basic training until the day we graduate and see our families. Discipline is vital to following orders efficiently, without it soldiers wouldn’t react fast enough when something is being commanded or would simply not be concerned enough to perform the task in hand, failing the team. We follow our commander’s orders because we certainly know that no matter what decision they make it will always be its overall good for the U.S, the army, and the individual soldiers. When an order is given we need to fully understand the order, and think about what needs to be done using the least amount of resources or time to achieve the mission in hand to complete the commanders or NCO’s specific commands. This is the most important key when performing a mission. the soldiers should never question the logic behind the command but should carry out without delay always knowing that their majors are always looking out for them. The importance of following your superiors orders is very important and should always be followed because as an NCO they know what needs to be done and how to do it and gives orders to accomplish that task. Not following this could have serious consequences such as failure of the mission or task at hand as well as serious injury to yourself, other or equipment. Disciple is instilled in every solider and is expected for them to follow the orders of their superiors, when this is not done the soldier is failing themselves by not living to what should be their standard. When an nco gives an order it may have come from their superiors as well and this is even more important because it could be critical to the mission. A duty is something you must do by virtue of your position and is a legal or moral obligation. For example, it is the duty of the squad/section/team leader to account for his soldiers and ensure that they receive necessary instructions and are properly trained to perform their jobs. It is the supply sergeant's duty to issue equipment and keep records of the unit's supplies. It is the first sergeant's duty to hold formations, instruct platoon sergeants and assist the commander in supervising unit operations..A noncommissioned officer's duties are numerous and must be taken seriously. An NCO's duty includes taking care of soldiers, Corporals and sergeants do this by developing a genuine concern for their soldiers' well-being. Leaders must know and understand their soldiers well enough to train them as individuals and teams to operate proficiently. This will give them confidence in their ability to perform well.. Individual training is the principle duty and responsibility of NCOs.There may be situations you must think carefully about what you're told to do. For example, duty requires that you refuse to obey illegal orders. This is not a privilege you can claim, but a duty you must perform. You have no choice but to do what's ethically and legally correct. Making the right choice and acting on it when faced with an ethical question can be difficult. Sometimes, it means standing your ground and telling your supervisor you think their wrong. If you think an order is illegal, first be sure that you understand both the details of the order and its original intent. Seek clarification from the person who gave the order. This takes moral courage, but the question will be straightforward: Did you really mean for me to, steal the part, submit a false report, shoot the prisoners? The Army summarizes its basic expectations in is seven core values, which are loyalty, duty, respect, personal courage, selfless service, integrity and honor. Although job responsibilities vary by assignment, the core values apply to every soldier, regardless of job or rank. Loyalty, Soldiers have a responsibility to defend the U.S. Constitution and the nation’s residents. However, they also are expected to be loyal to their fellow soldiers, their units and the Army as a whole. Soldiers obey the orders of their superiors and do not attempt to undermine their leaders. They defend other soldiers who need their help, whether it is in the barracks or on the battlefield. Duty, Soldiers fulfill their obligations in the best manner possible. They contribute to the efforts of a team, meet their personal assignments and make every attempt to fulfill every mission assigned. If they are in charge of lower-ranking soldiers, they have the duty to provide the leadership their subordinates need to advance
