Parents Pressure on Accounting Students

Parents have high expectations on their children towards their studies, it’s inevitable. They would like their offsprings to have at least good records of grades, who would want their children to have a poor performance? That’s why they push their children to study hard for them to be able to have a good performance on academics. Parents do their best to support their offsprings so that they will excel in school. As usual, parents just want the best for their children.

Students study hard not only for themselves but also to meet the expectations of their parents, of course who wouldn’t want to make their parents proud. Due to parents’ expectations, students become challenged and this will lead them to struggle with this thing called “pressure”. That is only because of parent’s expectations but what if you add the pressure from parents? The battle for the students just become more challenging which results to some effects that should be aware of.

Webster defined accounting as the skill, system or job of keeping financial records of a business or person. Therefore, accounting is the process of analyzing, summarizing and classifying the financial records or transactions of any business or person. Accounting deals with the idea of problem solving, finding the errors and correcting those errors. This proves that accounting is not an easy job or task for a particular person.

If being an accountant is not an easy job, then the way to be one is tougher. Therefore, parents’ expectations are higher which causes the students to be more challenged and handle more pressure. Students at times fear that they may not overcome the struggle and fail. Parents’ pressure on accounting students may affect the academic performance that they should be aware of. So, the researchers come up with an idea to conduct a study of the “Perceived Effects of Parents’ Pressure on Accounting Students.”
