Until one day, the family he was the favorite pet of, decided to move and left him behind, abandoned on the mean streets of Chicago. Left to fend for himself, he is soon cornered by the local gang- Guru, Interval, Hero English and dog wannabe-cat, Min, who tell him that this is their domain, Romeo didn't know the street lingo and is at a loss for words at first but he managed to win the gang over by giving them haircuts. They loved their new looks and accept Romeo as part of their gang. They together were doing a good business until Chhainu, the right hand of gangster-dog Charlie, arrived to collect prizzo (extortion) in the form of bones, Romeo threw Chhainu out, and the others, terrified went to Charlie to plead their case. Charlie threatened them with his trio of female ninja dogs, whom he call the Angels, but Romeo tricked Charlie inti allowing his friends to leave unhurt.
