Detour

The film Detour shown to us Tuesday was cool. In the beginning he seemed so bitter at the world. We all had no idea why, and I think that this affected the way I watched the movie. I found that the answer came quick, by the way Vera treated Rogers. She was complete rude to him for no reason, and the way she came out with knowing he killed Haskil really showed how she had a dominate personality. I knew at this point in the flashback that she was one of the reasons he was so perturbed because I figured she was going to control him during there relationship. This would cause me to go nuts also.

All Rogers wanted to do was get rid of the evidence connecting him to this so called murder. He wanted his women, and no trouble but instead met up with this sick woman who only wanted money and I think this was the reason she was moody. Another cause of her bitterness would have to be she was lonely. She was extremely demanding, which shows a sign of insecurity. She definitely was a bitch.

Rogers seemed to rely on fate as an excuse. He could of at anytime bailed out of this mess and no one would of caught him. Why the hell would he switch wallets with this man? This didn't make any sense, he could of took all the money and the wallet and kept his own. After this he could of switched back to his original identity and got his women and life back. That's the logic I would of used in this situation. But I still enjoyed the film, and that is all the counts.
