Before I begin speaking I would like you all to imagine having the same job, you all meet the same requirements, all have the something to bring to the table, in a sense you are all equal. Now I would like for the women in the room to imagine getting paid three quarters of the men are getting paid. Doesn't feel to good does it? What if I were to tell you that this isn't make believe, but reality. Because thats what it is. Women get paid 3 quarters the amount of men in the workplace, even in the 21st century. We all should be concerned with this situation because it is going to affect each and every single one of us. Its not just women who care about this, men do as well. They don't understand why women are getting paid less than them. As a husband, the male would want his wife to earn what she is suppose to. Today I would like to discuss this issue with you. Ill explains the differentials in men and women occupations and earnings, and what has been done in the past few years to fix the problem

In order for you to fully understand how unequal men and women actually are, I will be explaining situations that occur even at this very second. Men and women do not receive equal pay. In elementary school where the women comprise of almost 100% of the workforce get paid 59% of a male teacher pay. Why is this though, why do women get paid less then men. The most important reason to this is that the more women who have the same job, the greater the earning penalty. So if we were to look at secondary educations where women only comprise of only 56% of the work force, we will see that the women actually get paid 83% of the male teacher's earnings. Women also don't have as much on-the-job training as men. So what are we doing about this issue? Now I will talk to you about the attempts women have made to resolve this issue

In 1923 the National Women's party proposed an equal right amendment that "equality of rights under the law should not be denied or abridged by the Unite States of any state on account of sex." The Equal rights Act was never adopted
