So I Chose Ap Language And Comprehension

"I have no clue what's going on!" The story of my life when it comes to reading. I will be sitting in my room, nose in my book. I look at the clock, and then at my book. It's been two and a half hours and I have read 20 pages, and worst of all, I do not know what the heck is going on in the story. I find myself thinking. Thinking about everything but my book. Books have never been for me but that has to change. I get excited when I can read something for a while and really get into it. During the high holidays about six years ago, I found my first love for literature.

Alec is so lucky he gets to miss school today. No! My friends were sorely mistaken. I may be missing school but I have to sit through hours and hours of services at my synagogue. My mother knows that I have a hard time sitting in one place for a long time, especially when I'm not being entertained. We brainstormed for things that I could do during services to stay occupied. Since I was not allowed to be loud, or use electronics, or run around, it made things quite difficult. We came to a decision, a decision that I was not very fond of at the time.

Reading. We went to the bookstore in the morning and saw all kinds of books. At this point of my life, all I was interested in was sports, and childish humor. I got no greater joy in life than farting or hearing someone fart at that age. Actually, I haven't changed much at all in that area but that's not the point. The bookstore had a small series of books that were perfect for my current interests. Captain Underpants by David PilkeyÐ'... it even sounded appealing. There were four books in that series at the time. It looked like an easy read (even for me), so I was pretty excited to read during services. I ended up reading (one book per day) : The Adventures of Captain Underpants: An Epic Novel, Captain Underpants and the Attack of the Talking Toilets, Captain Underpants and the Invasion of the Incredibly Naughty Cafeteria Ladies from Outer Space, and Captain Underpants and the Perilous Plot of Professor Poopypants. I got started on the car ride there and I read non-stop until the services were over. I still wasn't finished with the book so I read all night too. I finished a whole book in one day, and I thought I was god. The next morning we picked up the next book in the series and I did the same as the day before. I felt like a genius and I was in love with reading, for a few days.
