Poppler's Gift Shop Executive Summary

Poppler's gift shop was created in Arizona by Herbert Poppler. Herbert Poppler owns a very successful company but recently encountered issues with controlling the inventory for his business. Herbert Poppler took on Team A to evaluate the existing method his company is using and to make any suggestions or recommendations on the new technologies that are obtainable and which ones will enhance his company's production and to modify the snags they are encountering at this time.

The first system that Poppler's company needs is a POS system, which is also known as a point of sale system. A POS system will allow the business to keep track of inventory that is sold in the store and will also automatically re-order new product to fill in for the one that has been sold. The merchandise will have an order point assign to it by the ISD technician that is in charge of this procedure. Once the merchandise in question hits a specific amount of sales it will demand the order point to fill the inventory.

The second and third systems join forces to support the POS system. The SKU or stock keeping units and RFID or radio frequency identification systems work with the POS system. They SKU system reads the barcode in charge of scanning the products that are sold on the register, which helps accelerate the checkout process and also helps keep track of inventory information. The RFID is a tag that can be read by the POS system and also helps keep track of inventory by sounding off the alarm in the store when a customer is trying to steal. The use of these systems will keep inventory up-to-date and ensure availability of inventory.

The fourth system that will be included in Poppler's business is a CRM or customer relationship management system. The CRM system will allow the management team the ability to trace purchase of their customer base and sell to him or her appropriately.
