Creative Minds and Critical Thinking

There are four stages to the creative process. The first stage of the creative process is searching for challenges, as the principle of creativity is meeting challenges in an ingenious, artistic, and inventive way. Challenges need not be sought-after; they come to a person in the form of understandable problems and issues. This stage in the creative process represents the pattern of seeking out encounters, not when people think the necessity to have it, but continuously. Its significance is shown that anyone can be creative only in reaction to encounters he or she comprehends. The second stage in using a creative process is articulating the question or concern, this stages purpose is to find the most suitable representation to conundrum or topic, preferably one that will generate the most beneficial ideas. Different ideas open diverse paths of thought and he or she need to consider as many of the best options as possible. Common oversights in addressing difficulties and concerns is observing them from one viewpoint only and shut off other fruitful paths of thought. Time and again, after conveying the problem or issue in numerous ways, he or she cannot decide which outlook is best. As this happens postponing decisions until the later stages of the course of action enables he or she to make a better decision. The third stage is investigating the problem or issue. This stage point is to acquire the data required to deal successfully with the setback or problem. In various cases, this means searching previous encounters and examination for applicable information and bringing it to the present-day problem. In others, it will mean locating new facts through fresh experience and study, conversations with well-informed people, or his, andhers own research. The fourth and final stage is for producing ideas. Objective of this stage is to produce adequate ideas to make a decision on actions to be taken or what faith to accept. Two obstacles common in this stage are the often unconscious tendency to limit ideas to common, familiar, habitual responses, and to block out uncommon, unfamiliar ones. Fight that tendency by keeping in mind that " however" alien and inappropriate the latter kinds of responses may seem, it is precisely in those responses that creativity is to be found. The second obstacle is the temptation to stop producing ideas too soon. There is one final matter to be clarified before one will be ready to begin practicing the creative process: "How will someone know when they get an innovative idea? What characteristics will you be able to differentiate it from other ideas?" A creative idea is an idea both imaginative and effective. That second quality is as important as the first. It may not enough for an idea to be unusual. If it were, the strangest, most uncanny ideas would be the most creative. To be creative ideas must work, solve problems, or clarify the issue it acts in response to. A creative idea must not be just rare, but it also should be exceptionally good. When he or she have formed numerous ideas it time decide which appears to be the best.. At this point decisions should be tentative. Otherwise, he or she will be tempted to forego the effective critical thinking process by which ideas are evaluated.

As in life people must face personal demons and challenges. It is how we deal with these challenges that can help us to learn from them. One of ultimate challenges I had to face occurred when I retired from the United States Navy after 20 years. So what I did was take myself a year off to sit back, relax, and enjoy life a bit. Then arose the rough economy as the job market and housing market both tanked at the same time. I found myself filling out thousands of applications to no avail as no one was hiring me for some odd reason. So
