Obesity, one of the fastest growing health problems and one of the leading causes of death in the United States. Currently more than 1 billion adults are overweight - and at least 300 million of them are clinically obese (4. www.who.int). If America is one of the richest and advanced countries in the world it should be one of the healthiest. Even though we are living in a country with great economic power and technological advancement, it is very sad to say but Americans are some of the unhealthiest people in the world. When you look up the word "Disease" it says an impairment or abnormality of the normal state or functioning of the body as a whole or of any of its parts. Obesity is a life threatening condition that falls in the category of disease because it is creating major health problems in America.

When you think about it, obesity all starts from what we are putting into our bodies meaning what we are consuming on a daily basis. In today's society with people having a lack of knowledge about nutrition, they pick up terrible eating habits causing them to suddenly become overweight and then eventually obese. When there are problems with health, people always try to blame someone else, but in all reality, it is the responsibility of the individual to exercise and maintain good nutritional diets and eating habits. Bad habits are the source of many developing problems because people do not care that much about their health to read the labels of what they eat.
