Taking full advantage of the improving business climate, Metrobank focused their efforts on achieving greater efficiency, increasing productivity, and revitalizing the Metrobank franchise. With the new management team and under the guidance of the Board of Directors and Advisers, they proceeded to chart a growth strategy that would transform the Bank into the country's best financial institution in the 21st century.

Externally, they sought new markets, offered better products, and improved sales focus. Internally, they reorganized their structure to be more responsive to the demands of the business, and initiated changes intended to maximize both short term gains and long term value. They also built on their systems capabilities and focused on people development.
