Liposuction

Liposuction, also known as lipoplasty is a cosmetic surgery operation that removes fat from many different locations on the human body. The areas that are affected can range from the stomach, thighs, butt, neck, backs of the arms and other places where there is a problem. The fat is usually removed by a cannula (a hollow tube) and aspirator (a suction device.) Liposuction is a form of body shaping with significant attendant risks and is not a weight loss method. Some people live their lives worrying about the way they look and the way they feel. Liposuction can mean better health. Being overweight is not healthy and some people find that liposuction can mean having a healthy life. By living a healthy life they can exercise and be more active. When a person is overweight they have a low self-esteem and are depressed. Having this surgical procedure done can help them feel better and not so depressed. A person can have more interaction with people and build better relationships with other people that with their low self-esteem could not be as low. (Bay, Suzanne. "The shape of things to come.")

In today's world a person is made to believe that the better they look the better they are. Liposuction can mean looking good. To some people looking good is a must and if that means they have to go under the knife they will do it. Liposuction, to some people, is an addiction that is hard to get rid of. Almost like a drug, a person can keep doing it until it fries their brain and then there is nothing that can be done. People who get liposuction can become addicted easily; spending thousands and thousands of dollars to make a body that looks good. (Bay, Suzanne. "The shape of things to come.")

There are negative aspects to removing too much fat. Lumpiness and dents is something that can be determined as over suction. However, shaping with liposuction may cause the appearance of weight loss to be greater than the actual amount of fat removed. The safety of the technique
