How did we get here? What higher being created us? There are many sides to this question; there are many answers. How do we know which one is true, we don't, we just know that we have to believe in what we think is true and have faith that, that is what really happened. The purpose of this essay is to distinguish the similarities and differences between two of the most common creations here in the United States of America. This essay is about Genesis vs. Native American Myths.

As stated above there are many similarities about these myths and stories. Both the Genesis account of creation and the Native American myths tell about an intelligent creator that created complicated beings. Creators in both sets of stories have a dwelling in the sky in the Genesis account the creator (God) dwells in heaven thus Christians call him their heavenly father. In Native American stories the creator lives in the sky so thus known as the sky god. Human curiosity is shared between both accounts, they both tell about how curiosity is a helpful thing and also a burden.

There are many differences about these accounts however, human value vs. nature is the most common difference. In the Bible it is understood that God places the humans above nature. The best evidence for this is found in Genesis 1:28 "And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon earth." (KJV).The Genesis version also says that humans were made in the image of their creator best shown in Genesis 1:27 " So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created he him; male and female created he him." The Native American myths say that the animals ruled over the humans, because in each myth the animals were the ones that could talk and reason and think for them selves.

In the Native American myths there are many creators, sometimes a god for each of the elements; sky, earth, wind, and fire. The Native American gods
