In today’s world working has become and accentual part in everyone’s life. Now working was not always that way. In the past women would stay home and clean the house, and make sure that there was food on the table, while the husband would work eight hours a day, and bring the income into the household. The children would play baseball until dark, and then do homework until bed time.

As we all know that has changed. The husband still brings in money to support the family, but now the wife brings in the income to, and still cleans the house, and puts super on the table. For many years people would try to fight the changed. Men inparticular would fight it, feeling that they were the ones that were suppose to provide for the family, and to protect the family, and so now they feel that women are trying to take over there position or rank in the family. But after time it started to become a common thing, and so now a lot of the women are now working and bringing in the income to help support the family.

The next thing that has really changed over time is that kids are getting more and more jobs everyday. In the story Who Speaks for the Lazy? by Arthur Krystal, he says that laziness is a must when it comes to a child now a days. He feels that when kids are in school he feels that they shouldn’t work in a job. That going to school itself is a job, with many rewards to come. However I would have to argue a lot with his thinking. Granite back in the olden days, it seemed as though kids didn’t really work that much, but really they did. They would work on farms, and do odd jobs around the town like mowing, and fixing fences. They also still went to school on top of that. Back then kids worked very hard to make money not to spend on themselves but to help support there family’s, because in the older days, the father brought in the money, and the wife would stay home and take care of the house. However some jobs back in the old days didn’t pay much at all. So the sons would go out and try to make more money to help the father support the money. You might be saying to yourself, “well that was then and this is now”. You are right but technology is rising as time goes on, and people are making more money. So when people make more money and technologies go up, then people are going to want them, because they help make living easier. Well in order for students to be able to get these things, they need to make the money, because again the parents can’t buy them a lot of times because they are supporting the family, and are paying bills themselves. The number one expensive thing in a teenager’s life is owning a car. In this generation teenagers are able to buy cars easier, because one they are cheaper then they use to, and teenagers are able to get jobs to buy and maintain these cars. The big word here is maintain, and even though they purchased the car, they
