When France became in charge of Louisiana Territory it put all the plans Jeferson had for the region in danger. Napoleon needed money to go to the war with Britain. So, Napoleon offered the United States the whole Louisiana territory for fifteen million dollars. The Louisiana purchase was very important for the United State’s future. It added thirteen new states the the union, it gave America control of the Mississippi river, and gave us resources and farm lands.

First of all, the Louisiana Purchase was very big for the United States future because it added thirteen new states, which became part of the union. In 1803, the Louisiana Purchase area nearly doubled the size of America. The region included the Mississippi River and westward to the Rocky Mountains, and stretched from the Gulf of Mexico at New Orleans to the Canadian border. Nine years after the Louisiana Purchase, Louisiana was accepted into the union as the eighteenth U.S. state. The addition was essential for the population and economy of America. After the Louisiana Purchase, America was in a lot of debt and the new extension of the Union helped benefit the payment by the fertile soil and trade space the zone held. The new states finally gave the U.S land and resources that was never available to us before. The Louisiana Purchase was very important for the United State’s future because it added thirteen states to our territory.

Ultimately, the Louisiana Purchase was very important for the United State’s future because it gave America regulations of the MIssissippi River. When France took control of the Louisiana region before the purchase it warned to block Americans from using the Mississippi River through the harbor in New Orleans. The river helped American dealers get their goods to the market for trade. If this stopped then farmers would not be satisfied with their crops, which would stop the Americans food supply. The river was helpful because if the U.S got into in any territory it would allow us to transport soldiers and supplies to support our troops. The Louisiana Purchase was important to the U.S because it gave America control of the Mississippi
