These contrasting views help us view ourselves and how we should view others. In the story, one day out of the blue Mr. Hooper just starts wearing this black veil and the people have no idea why he is wearing this piece of crape. They then start treating him different because they don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t like the black veil.
