How would you feel about your child shooting people and stealing cars, Listening to music promoting beating up others and watching acts of terrorism and torture?? Well, this is a common theme in today's generation of kids who do these activities almost on a daily basis by playing video games, watching television and listening to music. Our surroundings are being taken over by violence which is being glorified by sources of entertainment; These sources being video games, television and music.

In an age of technology more and more people are buying video games as a form of entertainment. However, with technology moving forward so has the amount of violence and gore in these video games. Nowadays anyone can pop in a video game and go around on shooting sprees, stealing cars, attacking prostitutes and doing many other illegal and violent things. How can this lead to any kind of positive effect on anyone playing these kinds of games?? The only thing that this is teaching people is that it is ok to be violent and it is fun to break the law. Most people will not actually go out and do these things, but what about children playing these games? How are they to know what is wrong and what is right when all they care about is "fun" and so much of our entertainment being violent; What is a child to do when he is surrounded by violence?

Television, most likely, is in any household and is probably the biggest form of entertainment to any persons. It used to be there would only be violence and sex on television on prime time, late at night. But now with satellite and more cable channels there is no stopping anything from being shown at any time of the day. It seems that producers of television shows keep on trying to "out do" the other and push the envelope a little bit farther and farther trying to attract more viewers; There channels few and far in between which try not to show violence and outrageous things, Nevertheless, it is hard to escape from images of violence, shows about crime, and news about the happenings in Iraq. Even sports are depict acts of violence, in hockey there are players injuring other player, intentionally or not, by big body checks and, besides a goal being scored, fans will get up and CHEER during fights, cheering for their player to knock the others lights out.
