With the emergence of electronic media, am optimistic that information is closer to us than ever before.

I am of the school of thought that people learn more readily from electronic media than they do from print, never the less, this does not reduce information available in printed materials.

Due to technological advancement and sophistication, lots of people find it stylish to own an electronic gadget especially the portable ones. Apart from being stylish, with inernet as a link to the world, these portable gadgets with internet connection makes information readily available accessible from any location.

For example, using the search engine to find a given information saves lots of time and is much easier than going to the library before deciding on the book or books to read, then finally taking out time to read and understand the book(s). Boycotting the long and tiring process of retrieving information from print is one reason people learn far more readily from electronic media than they do from print.

Watching the television is another sure reason people learn more readily from electronic media than they do from print. With the emergence of electronic storage devices such as compact disc, television programmes can be saved and wat ched at will. For example, my little neice prefers to learn her alphabet and numbers from the television programmes and cartoons that teaches it rather than reading her books. She find the program certainly more interactive than going through the pages of her books. With these programmes, she also finds it easier to remember and readily apply what she has learnt.

Lots of people learn from electronic media than they do from print as this could be viewed as "working smart rather than working hard", since if gleaning the World Wide Web or watching the television could give as much information as the print will, then it will
