The capital punishment has always been a debated issue among societies throughout time. Nowadays this law remains to be a controversial theme of discussion. However, it is a fact that the most of the continents such as America, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East with the exception of Israel still retain the death penalty for certain crimes. This does not mean that because it is practiced in many countries it is right. There are times when the freedom of democracy can makes us fall in the mistake of following the majority without analyzing the problem in itself.

The first thing to analyze when looking at the death penalty is the human being right to life. All people have the right to live and life is sacred. By this I mean that nobody has the right to take away the life of another person. You shall not kill, so says the Bible. On the other hand, many people are guided by the saying "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" and therefore they support capital punishment. However, this argument does not prove whether it is right to practice death penalty or not. You must fight evil with goodness as it is mentioned also in the Bible.

Another important aspect to consider about death penalty is the chance of killing innocent people. As we know all the trials are conducted by humans and humans make mistakes. Moreover, there are cases in which the only way to defend your self and survive is to kill the harasser. In this case we are talking about killing without murdering. However, the problem arises with the influence lawyers have on sentences. You could have killed someone but there is the possibility that it might have been an accident or you did it to defend your self. However, if you do not have enough proves to demonstrate what you are saying, then you can be convicted to capital punishment knowing the influence lawyers have on trials.
