"Power Of Fate In King Oedipus"

Are people really responsible for what they do with their lives and their actions? This very question has bamboozled the world through history. Over the years, people have questioned the influence of great or power, environment, genetics, even entertainment, as shaping how free any individual is in making choices.

Oedipus the main character meets with a

tragic fate. In the beginning he is a great king and ruler of the city of Thebes, then the people of Thebes come to him with a problem and The city is terribly on the course of death. Oedipus, being the great king he is is determined to solve the problem. Oedipus saved the city once before and became a hero. Now faced with this problem he would like to be a hero again, but things don't always turn out right, it was just what happened.

When the priest and the people of the city of Thebes come to see Oedipus he tells him, "Your own eyes must tell you Thebes is in her extremity and cannot lift her head from the surge of death." The people then tell Oedipus that they know he is a great king and everything and that's why they turn to him to find a way out of this problem. Oedipus saved the city once before from the Sphinx by solving the riddle and destroying her. Now he is faced yet again with another new problem he has no choice but to solve the problem and do as the people want him to and save the city once again.

When Oedipus finally reaches Colonus he realizes that it wasn't him who was responsible for his fate. His fate and his arrogance are the factors in which are where he feels he should die and be buried. His fate was told to him. Oedipus has his daughters carry out money when the people tell him he has to complete them for trespass on holy ground. He never apologizes for
