If We Were Captive, We'd be Psychotic

As she stands tall against the bright sunlight, her soft white fur glows with a thousand shimmering diamonds. As she slowly circled in her lonely, cold prison, she thought of her own life in her own habitat with her own species. Slowly her gaze shifted to the cold rusted gate, thinking one day it will open freely and help her lead to her own desired destination.

Zoos are known to hold captive endangered animals and serve us as entertainment. Throughout the entire world, zoos have their hands on almost all the species in the animal category. Zoos should not hold captive animals because it is inhuman, unjust and downright cruel.

In the zoo's perspective, animals should be kept in the hands of a career and prevent from extinction. Not caring for their environment, they would change the animal life style. A lifestyle behind bars and a life time in asylum. Some may say, studying the way of animals living habitat -in a zoo-benefits the youth. Educating the brain, it will give them further knowledge on certain species.

But for an animal to be in its state of their lifestyle, they would need to live on their own habitat -in the wilds. Absorbing their own nature environment, they would lead their future generation to follow suit into their paw prints. Being held in captive, may lead to add odd behaviors on future reference. Sometimes in the different parts of the world, the government would be asking to cut the budget short. By cutting the budget and funds, the zoos are force to cut down the food supplies and health care. Different types of animals have their own special food source which would lead to special diet.

In a British Zoo, UK, two polar bears are confined in a tiny concrete closure for nearly 28 years. Because of that, it has led to being psychotic. Research also said that about sixty percent of polar bears are mentally deranged, and cubs are twice
