LONDON AND MANCHESTER

The main content of this essay is to show comparisons between London and Manchester. It will discuss similarities in population and transport and differences in history and cost of living.

First of all, both London and Manchester are two of the most populous cities in the UK. Manchester attracts a large number of people from other countries. London’s population is similar to Manchester’s. They both have people coming from different countries. For example, the population of London is mixed with White people 69.7%, in Manchester is 69.93%, and they are very nearly. Asian people are 13.2%,in Manchester is 11.2% which is slightly fewer Asian people. Chinese people 3.5% , in Manchester is nearly to London (Anonymous,2011)

Secondly, both London and Manchester’s traffic system is well-developed. London is one of the busiest urban transport networks in the world, with bus, underground, docklands light railway, river bus services, local trains, trams, taxi, accessible public transport and emirates air line cable car. (visitlondon.com 2016). The UK and Europe's busiest bus network is in Manchester. Manchester has the most regular and the busiest bus network in Europe. Metro shuttle Free city bus service covered all main city center areas. There are eleven rail stations in London, whereas in Manchester only has two main rail stations—Manchester Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly. In Manchester also has Metro link Rapid Transit System-Trams which through the centre of Manchester.

One main difference between London and Manchester is industry. It is necessary for the public to realize that London has a long history. London was built by Romans in 47AD. Not only is it the oldest part of British, it also is the world’s leading international financial and business ( www.cityoflondon.gov.uk). On the other hand, Manchester was built by Romans when it was a wooden fort about 80AD (Lambert, 2016). In the 19centry, Manchester's economic grow to a great extent on the cotton industry, by the middle of the century had become a "workshop of world". (Griffin, 2016).
