Ang Lee's adaptation of "Mountain", written by Annie Proulx, gets two thumbs up in Hollywood. Known as "Brokeback Mountain" on the big screen, this love-story portrays the romance between Heath Ledger (Ennis Del Mar) and Jake Gyllenhaal (Jack Twist). Throughout the movie Heath Ledgers friend-turned lover, Texas Rodeo Cowboy Jake Gyllenhaal portrayed the romance 100% better than that of Heath Ledger. Being obligated to sit through the 2 ј hours of the $6.30 movie I paid for, I've discovered that in the future I will certainly question the sexuality of Jake Gyllenhaal.

It seems like Hollywood's agenda is to portray Homosexuality as okay in today's society. That is the only reason I can think that they would give this poorly written screen-play such great reviews and many Grammy's and Emmy's. Not to say the acting in Brokeback Mountain was bad because of the actors. I think that Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger used their lines well for what was written for them, as poorly script as it was. Co-stars Michelle Williams and Anne Hathaway seemed to portray the wives of the gay cowboys quite well, with what little acting that was required from them.

The romance between the two men did not convince me they were lovers, but just very good friends. There sex scenes were not intimate, and their meeting after being separated for so many years was very uncomfortable for Heath Ledger. He showed this through his face and his actions.

Brokeback Mountain was a poorly script movie. The two main characters did not connect in their acting and they were not convincing enough to make me think they were in love. As to be well known for it's magnanimous screen-play and sensational acting, I was thoroughly un-impressed. There are many scenes in the movie were I was lost or didn't quite understand what was going on. I think that with a better script that was written based on the book it would have been
