Are You Considered a Beauty or a Beast?

Fables are usually stories or legends passed down from generation to generation as a way to pass morals to instill in children. A fable is usually a short tale to teach a moral lesson, often with animals or inanimate objects as characters that take on human roles. Fables are told my either word of mouth, a song, poem, or a movie. Fables usually teach about morals, caution, wisdom, greed, foolishness, or any lesson that can relate to life. A fairytale is very similar to a fable but has some sort of magic to help emphasize the lesson or moral.

Beauty and the Beast is an excellent example of a film that is a fairytale. The morals or lesson behind this film is that you should not judge a book by its cover. This means that looks are not everything and you should be kind to everyone. An underlying plot of this film is also love. A handsome, but self-absorbed prince received the chance to help an old raggedy lady, but he treats her badly. She turns out to be a beautiful woman with magical skills and she throws the prince into a spell of ugliness and loneliness. The prince's staff was transformed into objects to do with their profession (Beauty and the Beast). He gets a magical mirror to watch the world through in his isolation in the castle. He needs to learn to love a person for who she is, and get her to love him before a magical rose loses its petals. In the village near by, a beautiful young girl feels lonely and misunderstood because she reads a lot of books, and felt isolated. Belle's father is a "nutty professor". He goes off to compete at an inventors' fair but gets lost in the woods and ends up a prisoner at the beast's castle. Belle, his daughter, goes looking for him, finds him there and pleads to let her father go, in return for her staying there with the beast. The beast agreed and Belle is now trapped in the castle with the beast and the staff who are all talking objects. She disliked the beast at first because he was very rude to her. As time passes, she manages to fall in love with the beast. Back in town, a man named Gaston is in love with Belle. He threatens to lock
