An Angel By My Side

I can't say that everything's okay, on Christmas with my family. But I do know that there is always an angel by our sides. A few years ago it was December 24, 2009. My family and I were on our way down to Florida to go to Disney Land, everyone was so excited because it was Christmas Eve and we knew that we would be celebrating it in Disney, I mean who wouldn't be excited. As we got to our hotel, my mom got a phone call from my Aunt Bonnie saying "Chris needs a heart transplant". Chris is my uncle. He lives in Florida and I really don't get to see him much. He is a funny guy. This weekend he was staying in Staten Island for Christmas. But, meanwhile he needed to spend it in the hospital.

As we got the phone call my mom started to cry. I immediately went to her an hugged her and told her that it was going to be okay. Our family then went out to dinner to the Disney Diner. My dad whispered to my mom "We will drive back tomorrow morning". We actually did, I was pretty upset, my siblings were too.

As we reached the hospital, my mom took all of us to the elevator. She was crying, and my brother hugged her. I felt so bad for my mom but, I knew that God was watching over us. As we arrived to the room, I kissed my uncle. His wife Karen was worried and crying. As we left the room they began to operate. The doctor told us it was a long operation.

The next few days were sad. But too all of our surprises he survived. It was a miracle from God! What does Christmas mean to you my dad asked me that morning? I responded, " Christmas is a time to thank the Lord for bringing all of us the gift of life.
