In order to prevent burnout and improve efficiency and profitability, the leaders of SC Johnson has devised a reward system where the employees can take a paid sabbatical during their employment with the company. It has been reported in the Lancaster New Era, that 70 of a possible 3,000 have taken advantage of the program. The program is geared towards the employees that have been working at the company for more than 5 years. On the 5th anniversary, the employee is qualified to take eight weeks off with full benefits and 25% of their salary. It gets better for the employees 10 years and more, the employee who worked for the company for at least 10 can take a 12-week sabbatical with pay and benefit and are eligible for another 12 weeks every five years thereafter.

At the end of the maternity leave, working mothers can either work on a part time (up to six months) to help them adjust to the new life or they can share their responsibilities with a full-time employee.
