FACTOR 1: EDUCATION

Level 1 ( points) F.A. or equivalent and specialized or technical training and/or vocational or technical or business school.

Level 2 ( points) Some college or Associate Degree and/or specialized training or certification.

Level 3 ( points) Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university or equivalent.

Level 4 ( points) Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent; and extensive training and/or specialized advanced certification and/or licensing.

Level 5 ( points) Master's Degree (M.A. or M. S. or M.B.A.) or equivalent and knowledge in a specialized field.

Level 6 ( points) Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) or equivalent.

FACTOR 2: EXPERIENCE

This factor measures the minimum amount of job-related experience, whether gained inside or outside the University, in order to be hired or promoted into the position

Level 1 ( points) No prior work experience required.

Level 2 ( points) Requires less than 12 months of related experience.

Level 3 ( points) Requires one to three years of related experience. Requires a working knowledge of standard practices and procedures.

Level 4 ( points) Requires more than three years, up to and including five years of related experience. Requires working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures.

Level 5 ( points) Requires more than five years, up to and including seven years of related experience. Requires broad knowledge of complex systems and procedures.

Level 6 ( points) Requires more than seven years of related experience. Requires advanced knowledge in highly specialized systems and procedures.

FACTOR 3: SUPERVISION/ LEADERSHIP

This factor measures the degree of responsibility for other employees and direct control over the quantity and quality of others' work.

Level 1 ( points) No supervisory responsibility for employees or students.
