It is a story no one on earth could of made up. Four young men experiement with internal combustion in a tiny wood shed. Not only does the wood shed not burn down but the motorcycle they built goes on to serve for over 100,000 miles.

Harley Davidson is name recognized around the world and admired by the young and old alike. Harley Davidson has constantly out paced its own record performance in each of the past 20 years. During the past 10 year period, compounded annual growth rates for revenue and earnings have been better than 14% and 23%, respectively.

We fulfill dreams through the experience of motorcycling, by providing to motorcyclists and to the general public an expanding line of motorcycles and branded products and services in selected market segments.

Goals

Harley-Davidson's goals have always had an emphasis on the customer. As well as a focus on sustainable growth with principle objectives to grow value and further strengthen the brand. Delivering quality custom bikes to everyone from your everyday rider to your motorcycle enthusiast is another main goal of the business. These are quality goals that have made the Harley-Davidson brand into the world renowned logo recognized today.

Company Financial Overview

2005 results In 2005, Harley-Davidson consolidated revenue grew to $5.34 billion, a 6.5% increase over 2004, while net income grew 7.8% to $959.6 million. Diluted full-year earnings per share rose 13.7% to $3.41 compared to 2004. Harley Davidson shipped 329,017 new Harley-Davidson motorcycles to dealerships globally. Harley Davidson's dealers again retailed record numbers of new Harley-Davidson and Buell motorcycles. For the full year, worldwide retail sales of Harley-Davidson motorcycles grew 6.2% to 317,169 units and international retail sales grew 15.0% compared to 2004. Harley-Davidson Europe had an absolutely gangbuster year, with retail sales of Harley-Davidson motorcycles climbing 19.9% over the prior year.

Parts & Accessories revenue grew 4.4% to $815.7 million in 2005. Revenue from General Merchandise, which includes MotorClothes® apparel and collectibles,

totaled $247.9 million, a 10.8% increase over 2004. Revenue for Buell motorcycles was $93.1 million in 2005, a 17.8% increase from 2004, on a 13.3% growth in shipments.
