Introduction

Mr. Romulo “Sonny” M. Gutierrez, who was a graduate of mechanical engineering turned out to continue the simple family business into a million-peso-earning Kayang Meat Shop. His wife, Teresita who was a graduate of accounting takes care of the finances. Sonny wanted to go into meat processing, supplying processors like the Republic Flour Mills and Jollibee and also supplying meats to supermarkets because of the rising prices for imported pork and by now Filipinos prefer to buy meat from supermarket rather than wet markets. Because of the continuing expansion of Kayang Meat Shop outside Manila like Pangasinan it received government grant of land under the the condition that the operator must develop property and provides the factory. Aside from this government grant, the company still need a large amount of money that will finance its new slaughterhouse construction.
