Student Lectures: ARTISANS

        There are four different temperaments in general that are known as the Artisans, Guardians, Idealists, and Rationalists.  Each temperament divides individuals and their characteristics into four personality groups.  The Artisans divide themselves into four groups which are the promoter, the crafter, the performer, and the composer.  An example of two famous people that fall into the Artisan family and that are also mentioned in my power point presentation are Donald Trump and Marilyn Monroe.  An Artisan is said to be optimistic, fun-loving, bold, spontaneous, they usually trust their impulses, and have many more other traits.

        The four artisan personality types share characteristics that attribute to the SP (sense-perceive) types. Performers, promoters, composers, and crafters share characteristics in which they are firm speakers and they are successful in pursuing their goals. The role of these characteristics is that of either the operator or the entertainer. Promoters are expressive operators with goals to encourage others to their beliefs and take delight at the finer things in life. Crafters introvert operators that are authoritative and efficient in attaining their goals. Performers are optimist and expressive entertainers that attract attention through humor and are skillful at charming others. Composers are entertainers that are attentive to their environment. Composers are well aware of the world around them and fulfillment is attained in assisting the need of others. 

        There are many famous and important influential people that are known to be artisans. This list of people includes Elvis Presley, Mozart, George W. Bush, Bob Dylan, and much more. We focused on two different individual people on our PowerPoint which are Donald Trump and Marilyn Monroe. Donald Trump is currently our 45th president of the United States of America. Trump is considered a promoter. A promoter puts “boundless energy into persuading others to buy into their ventures” (Keirsey, 1998). Donald Trump was well known for his success in business before his presidency and is still very successful on top of his presidency. The second person I am focusing on is a very influential person, Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn Monroe was an actress and model of her time which makes her fall under the role variant performer. “Performers improvise in front of others, and so they get good at demonstrating, displaying, showing, presenting, staging, enacting, or exhibiting their artistic skills” (Keirsey, 1998), which is what Marilyn Monroe would do throughout her iconic career
