It was a normal day in the Arathi Basin. To fuel a war, we need resources; to win a war, we need to eliminate the enemy. Luckily for us, this battleground boasts both concepts. While the others are destroying each other, wave after wave, we must take the land that will aid them. This, of course, is also done by killing enemies, squad after squad. A team is not pulled into the basin out of nowhere, after you request your shift, you must wait for it. But this is no standard job with designated shifts. As a volunteer, you enter when you are called, and leave when you are finished. The game begins when the civilians come under attack. At that point, the battle begins. In about sixty seconds after an assault, the enemy can not only destroy all of our civilians, but replace them with their own. You must be able to gain around two thousand resources before the enemy has no chance to win. At that point, the match is over, and you must wait once more for the time to come. Now that the challenge was presented, I accepted the task. Our story takes place in basic training, when one is required to assault each and every point at least once, for you are not a true fighter if you do not. When the drums of war sounded, and the gates to the Defiler's Den opened, the game begins.

It was a bumpy start before the Defilers actually became friendly with me, but it was worth it in the end. The match started like any other: teams rushing, spells casting, blades clashing, land controlling. In the end, the only thing that matters is victory. I started out not knowing when what to do. This place was foreign to me; I was just following the others around. Eventually you pick up on what to do as a new recruit: let the others fight as you sneak around and capture the point. This was easier said than done to be honest. The first time, I followed a Tauren. Not just any Tauren, the biggest one I could find. With me being undead, the smallest race, it's the best way to get around. That's what I thought, until the Tauren fell. Then the many heads of the alliance turned to me and quickly killed me. Resurrection is a real pain, you have to release your spirit to a graveyard and wait for the healer to complete the process. The process can be either instant, or take around thirty seconds. Of course it took me thirty seconds, because that's just my luck. When I finally re-spawned, our base was assaulted by the entire alliance team. Lovely, I died again. This time I was lucky, it only took 10 seconds. When I came up, I found not just one Tauren but three. I followed them closely so they could help me if needed. It seemed that they were going to assault a tightly guarded base; it was hard to understand, because they were speaking in their own language, not the general Orcish language.
