Reflection Essay

Will resembles Sean more than the professor, they are both coming from the same bad background. They both have the attitude to follow there heart and the professor kinda just likes to thing of the things you can get in return like a medal. Will didn't really care about what things he would get from working because he was content not being very wealthy. Will was an orphan so he has an nature to automatically reject getting attached to people that could be considered original sin. He was born into not being open to others because his foster father was abusive. He never wanted to get to attached to skyler because he was scared that if they got to know each other to well they they wouldn't like each other. He obviously loves skyler but when ever she asked him if he loved her he said he didn't because he was scared to get into relationship with skyler. Will gets into a lot of fights and is very physical as you can see in the beginning of the movie when he goes to beat that kid up that bullied him in kindergarten. That scene that led to him meeting the professor where he got to learn Sean and find his true self instead of the physical and abusive side of him. This physical side of Will can be caused by the fact that his father abused him when he was younger. He also let skyler go to California without following because he didn't want to get attached like his parents ditched him when he was younger. Sean said his father was laying the bricks was honorable because that was as smart as he would be, that was his fathers full potential and he was doing it for a bigger reason, to help provide for his family. Will being a janitor at MIT isn't honorable because he has so much potential but is just scared to do what he is meant to do. I think his destiny was so to go get a good job and improve the math world because he was one of a kind and could truly change the math world.
