Hi, my name is Eric hayes, and i’m a seventh grader in the school of “nobodies” as what my dad would say. This story starts in my first basketball tryout of sixth grade. For a starter, I, was, soo, bad. I couldn’t even make any of my shots, My friend, Griffin well, was my friend. who isn’t a basketball fan or even plays basketball is even better than me. It’s so unfair, to have a body of a first grader and to have a mind of a 6th grader. To balance that out, I was even bullied for having it. In an instant i went from having a lot of friends, to missing a basketball shot for the win, bullied, and having your friends be disappointed in you. It was the worst feeling i could endure. Few days pases by, blah blah blah, get bullied, class, get bullied, then class. Same thing every single day.

The person i thought was my friend turned out to have used me. All this happening in an instant, until it just stopped. The bullying and pushing stopped. Going in school hoping i wouldn’t walk pass Griffin. Well, walking pass griffin was a no go, i met up with him anyways. The thing was, griffin didn’t even push me when i passed him or even looked at me. I didn’t understand what was happening at this time, unless i did something good p.s which never happens. Or he had another target he had in mind. As i was walking to lunch. A girl named Mary bumped into me. She had blue eyes and dark brown hair, she took a step and asked me if i was the guy griffin was bullying. So i said, ya. She told me the reason he stopped bullying me. He found a girl and started making fun of her on social media. Then Mary pointed at the girl that was getting bullied. I felt guilt to be in this position right now. I stood up and walked to the cafeteria.

Few more days pass. The second basketball game is today. I’m hyped up, i’m ready to go, gotta focus on not failing this time. We had only 1 sub and it was my friend Jacob. So we start tip-off with us getting the ball. I’m point guard so they all passed to me to the back. I started to dribble and drove to the basket. I got blocked, Everyone was laughing at me, i was so embarrassed. But i had to keep playing my hardest. All the people in the other team were over 6 feet. We were the shortest people there. We might even lose this game. Nah, i gotta keep my positivity. As they drove to the basket i tried to block him but he got the basket. It was now 0-2 Them. Few minutes pass by 1-2, 2-2, 5-5, 20-20. And then it was down to 2 minutes left. One of the subs are on and we’re tied at 20-20. One minute passes with no team scoring. We still have the ball. We missed it. They scored it. So it’s now 20-21, with 30 seconds left. Shot clock at 21. I run down the time. Last 5 seconds. I fake it and run to the basket hoping to get a foul. Then all of a sudden i accidently drop the ball and get a turnover. Then the other team won. After that i wasn’t excited for all the things my teammates are going to say to me.

After the game. Once we got to the locker room, the exact words i heard were. You tried, i wasn’t getting any hate i wasn’t getting teased or pushed. I just heard the word you tried. It was from one of the grade 8’s his name was jack. That day was the day i made
