Corey: Hey mike, what's up?

Mike: Nothing, how about you?

Corey: nothing much. Wanna hang out after school?

Mike: Ya shure, want to

come over my house?

Corey: Why not? My mom wont let you come over anyway.

Mike: I will see if I can find anyone else that wants to come over to. Is that ok?

Corey: Yup that is fine. I do not care. It is your house.

Mike: O.K. then I will se you after school. Bye.

After School at Mike's House

Narrator: Corey knocks on the door. Mike answers.

Mike: Hey what's up. Come on in.

Corey: Where is everyone else that you said you were going to invite?

Mike: everyone is on their way. They had to stop and get something.

Corey: What did they get?

Mike: Do not worry about it. You will find out later.

Corey: O.K. I am trusting you.

Mike: Oh look here they are know. Good.

Corey: Hey mike where are your parents?

Mike: There not home. Why?

Corey: Just Wondering. Because my mom said that I ma not allowed here unless your parents are home.

Mike: Do not worry just stay. You will not get in trouble.

Corey: I guess you are rite. I will stay.

Mike: O.K. now everyone in the back.

Narrator: Everyone goes into that back but Corey still does not know why.

Corey: why are we back here and not inside?

Mike: Have you ever smoked weed?

Corey: you mean drugs? No. My mom says I should never do drugs. They are bad for you. The kill your brains cells and make you stupid even though you already are for trying them.

Mike: Come on. It will be fun. They high is so good. It makes you feel good. It relaxes you. Come on. Do it. You will not get in trouble.

Corey: NO! I am not doing your stupid "weed."

Narrator: Mike and his friends keep pressuring him to smoke.

ABOUT TEN MINUTES LATER

Mike: So you will do it. Ok Chad Light it up.

Narrator: The joint is passed around the circle and finally gets to Corey. He does not know what to do. He panics. Then he takes a puff. He starts coughing. (Corey coughs)

Corey: I do not like this.

Mike: Come on. You have not even got to the good part yet. Keep going. Just keep puffing.

Narrator: Corey finally reaches what they call "a high."

Corey: Oh my god I feel so good. And I did not want to do drugs. What was it thinking.

Mike: I don't know?

ABOUT AN HOUR LATER

Narrator: Corey goes home and his mom confronts him.

Corey: Hey mom. How was your day?

Corey's Mom: Fine how was it at your friend Mike's house after school.

Corey: It was fine. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Corey's Mom: Oh, you seem weird. Like something happened. Were you doing something you were not supposed to be?

Corey: No mom. Do not worry so much.

Corey's Mom: Well there is something wrong and I will find out. What is Mike's phone number?

Narrator: Corey's Mother calls mike's house and speaks with mike's mom.

Mike's Mom: Hello

Corey's Mom: Hi, this is Corey's mother. My son was over your house after school. When he came home he was acting kind of weird and I just wanted to make shure everything was all right.

Mike's Mom: I am sorry. I just got home. I did not even know Mike had any friends over. Let me ask him. Hold on. MIKE. CAN YOU COME HERE FOR A MOMENT PLEASE?

Mike: COMING! Yes mom, What do you want?

Mike's Mom: I hear you had some friends over after school today.

Mike: Yes. What is the problem?

Mike's Mom: What did you do?

Mike: Nothing. We just played video games in my room.

Mike's Mom: Mike said that they just play video games.

Corey's Mom: Oh, Ok. He was acting kind of weird but mabie it was just I. Ok thank you. Bye.

Mike's Mom: Bye

LATER THAT NIGHT

Narrator: Corey and his mom are sitting at the table eating dinner.

Corey: So mom, how was your day.

Corey's Mom: Fine. Guess what I saw on the news today?

Corey: What?

Corey's Mom: The child went to a party and had a soda and put it down to go to the bathroom and got out and drank his drink again. Later that he passed out and then died.

Corey: How did he die?
