Act one :Macbeth diary entry

     I was one of the best soldiers. I fought for my King, alongside one of my closest friend, Banquo. We destroyed the enemy and successfully counter insurgency.         I have the ambition to control the military in the country because I am the best general. I can dominate the battlefield and that’s all I want to do. Everything has gone well and we were riding on our horses on the trail that will lead us back to our King Duncan. When we are on my way home, we stopped when we hear a strange noise. Both, Banquo and I, looked around and called out to it. That is when three figures appear before us. They were scariest and creepiest persons I’ve ever seen. One saying:“All Hail,Macbeth,Thane of Glamis!’’ I understood that, I was thane of Glamis at that time. Another one said: “All Hail,Macbeth,Thane of Cowder!’’ I was confused. There was already a Thane of Cowder. Then the last one said:“All hail,Macbeth,that shalt be King hereafter.’’  I was more puzzled,but also curious. Banquo questioned them, but they chanted that he will be greater than me. They said he will become the father of the king. I ordered them to explain more about this, but they vanished just as fast as they came. Only moments later Banquo and I talked about me being king and him fathering kings, and after we questioned ourselves if we ate something that made us just see the witches and they were not true there, kinsmen Ross and Angus arrived. They then told us the news of Thane of Cowder being a traitor and the King have titled me the Thane of Cowder. That ‘s exactly what the witches told me.

     I have mixed feelings on my way back. Maybe,perhaps these witches were real and told me my future? I really can’t understand how I am going to became king. I am his cousin and I am satisfied with my current title. I should always support King Duncan when he needs me. I am his best kinsman because I am able to lead thousands of troops and protect Scotland. King Duncan titled as Thane due to my loyalty. However, there is an evil thought contrary to my loyalty, and I can’t stop imagine the wealth and power I will have if I replace King Duncan. My ambitious mind suggested me that I have enough ability to make a better king than Duncan. Oh no! I must hide these thoughts and let nobody know. Otherwise, I will end like the previous Thane of Cowdor. I should always loyal to Duncan which is the right way to serve this country.
