Have you ever wondered what different species of reptiles eat, or what they do everyday? Reptiles are animals with dry and scaly skin, are cold blooded, have vertebrae, and have the ability to lay eggs. There are many examples of reptiles such as the Komodo Dragon, Gharial, and prehistoric reptiles as well like the Tyrannosaurus Rex and Triceratops. You can tell that all these reptiles have a trait or two similar to one another that make them reptiles. Today, I will be teaching you about some of the most interesting reptiles that mankind has discovered throughout the ages.

What’s the most largest, gruesome, villest, reptile you can think of? A reptile that comes to mind is the infamous Tyrannosaurus Rex. The Tyrannosaurus Rex was one of the largest reptiles to roam the Earth. It was a carnivore, which made it a threat to any animal living in its time. According to Wikipedia, this massive creature has powerful jaws with a bite force 15 times that of an African Lion (35,000-57,000 newtons). It also had very keen level of vision, so that it passes the sight range of a hawk. Fast prey wasn’t really a problem with the Tyrannosaurus Rex as it ran 25 to 43 miles per hour, and due to it’s hollow bones, the Tyrannosaurus Rex was able to run at high speeds. These traits made the Tyrannosaurus Rex the perfect killing machine, but it became extinct at the end of the Mesozoic Era along with all the other dinosaurs.
