The Day Earth Stood Still

The movie The Day Earth Stood Still has many political standpoints, such as the way the United States government reacted to the aliens. And the world leader's response to the aliens requests to listen to them. In the first case the United States government reacted to the aliens in a hostile action, by bringing tanks and military personnel to the aliens craft's landing spot. Then by firing upon the alien that came to warn the earth of what was happening around them. Also the way the world leaders responded to the aliens request to a meeting of all power to explain to them what is going on, but they argued among themselves before the alien could warn them.

This movie also has social statements, such as the way many people responded to the aliens. First of all the way the Army personnel fired upon the alien speaker and did not listening to him; then by se him in the hospital and not letting him out to explore our world. But it also shows that not all people responded hostilely to the alien. Such as with scientists, they were the only ones who could see past their country's difficulties for overall good of the world. But even then the army stopped them from doing what they needed to do, decide among themselves what the best solution was for the world.

This movie also had many religious statements, spiritually and omnisciently. The movie had spiritual relevance in that it was an idea of how the people who showed that they could not handle a foreign pupil that did not believe in such things as they did. And omnisciently it showed combat believes impact on choices of the world and its people. It didn't that impact their lives as so much as their minds, where the decisions were already made by the ones who came before them.
