Is Today's Government Living up to the Preamble?

1. When the states were younger and the nation was anew, states were much more individualized, making it hard for them to gather together as a cohesive nation. To address that issue more power was given on the federal level. Therefore the states on a national level trumps states.

2.Establishing justice means making sure everyone has equal rights and opportunities, recognizing that humans are born free. When the Constitution was first written, African Americans and women did not have the rights to white males . However the government since has been working toward granting these group rights as any other human being.

3. This goal means that the government aims to keep peace within the nation, so the citizens can live securely without fear of internal and foreign treats. Chances are you live somewhere to act dangerously or an accident happens, you depend on local law enforcements to rectify the situation and punish the guilty.

4.This means that the government must defend the nation against foreign enemies, protecting citizens and U.S. interests. The government currently has an army, in addition, to the navy and addition to the air force. The military in general is meant to protect the nation and launch offensive attacks as needed to ensure the safety of the nation.

5.Promoting the general welfare means helping people to reach their full potential. An example of this is disability checks and social security. Public schools also follow this rule. Kids can go to school for free and eat for free while their parents go out and earn a living.

6. This allows people to live freely with their inalienable rights. You can critic the government and express any idea at your discretion. people are allowed to practice any religion they want and no one can forbid them to.
