1. The Fourteen Points became the basis for the terms of the German surrender, as negotiated at the Paris Peace Conference in 1919 and documented in the Treaty of Versailles. However, only four of the points were adopted completely in the post-war reconstruction of Europe, and the United States Senate refused to ratify the Treaty of Versailles.

2. At the Treaty of Versailles, Woodrow Wilson was able to convince the other world leaders to join his League of Nations. The League's goals included disarmament, preventing war through collective security, settling disputes between countries through negotiation diplomacy and improving global welfare. The leaders also agreed to abide by some of Wilson's 14 Points but not all of them.

3. The debate in Article V was about "Article X." This article stated, "The Members of the League undertake to respect and preserve as against external aggression the territorial integrity and existing political independence of all Members of the League. In case of any such aggression or in case of any threat or danger of such aggression the Council shall advise upon the means by which this obligation shall be fulfilled."

4. Mrs. Wilson acted as President when she had to step up to the plate when her husband was very sick. Wilson couldn't have resigned because that would have been very bad for the country. She studied every paper, relayed messages to the president and met with other Senators and Representative on the decisions that had to be made. She acted as a substitute president while Woodrow couldn't. She also was a sort of puppet fro Woodrow since his ideas were till used but she was in charge of them.

5. It was Wilson's fault for the Senate not accepting the Treaty. Back in October of 1918, he encouraged the American people to vote Democratic to prove there loyalty to him. This plan backfired because the Republicans won a majority of the House and Senate. Wilson now needed the Republic Senate to side with him and accept the treaty. This of course didn't happen and the Senate rejected it.
