"How big the sea was! from here there was no land to be seen anywhere- just a vast expanse of blue water rippling in the evening sun" pp. 40

Vera says this quote right after she's done reading the little nigger boy poem that is found in everyone's room. She knew the poem from when she was a little girl. While sitting by the window looking at the waves the waves bring back a bad memory that she doesn't want to think about.

I chose this quote because I like the way she felt on this island even though she didn't know anyone she still felt safe. and the way she described the sea makes it sound like it was her protector even though the island is the last place she'd want to be.

"Mr. Owen's jewels. Mrs. Owen my foot! I don't believe there's any such person." pp. 69

This quote was said by Blore. Everyone was talking about how or why they came to the island. And Blore being stubborn doesn't think there is even such thing as Mr. Owen. After he says this it makes everyone wonder if there really is a Mr. Owen.

I like this quote because its the part of the book that makes you actually think to your self if there really is a Mr. Owen. And it makes you wonder who is playing as him or if anyone knows anything about it.

"It is perfectly clear. Mr. Owen is one of us..." pp. 170

Lombard carries a gun for protection because the only reason why he's on the island is because he was hired to do a job on the island and the man who hired him said that there would be trouble on the island. They also find Macarthur dead and they notice only seven statues are left.

I liked this quote because it was kind of cool how they figured out that the killer was a member of the house. Its kind of like a game of clue they have to find out who killed who in what room with what weapon. I also liked this quote because at this point in the book we don't know anything about the killer we don't
